Regenerate and nurture your body and mind with whole-plant food

While there are several reasons for eating more plant-based food – animal welfare, climate change and personal health being the three core ones – the singularly most important one is – Your Health. Accelerated by the Covid pandemic, more and more people around the world are becoming flexitarians (eating less meat and more plants) as personal health takes centre stage. Expert studies conclude that a well-structured and balanced whole plant food diet is one of the healthiest ways to nourish our bodies. One amazing example is given by Dr Michael Greger, MD, in his book ‘How not to Die’. He starts the book by describing how doctors sent his 65-year-old grandmother home to die of end-stage heart disease, but how she lived until the age of ninety-six thanks to switching to a healthy plant-based diet and lifestyle.

The emphasis here is on whole plant food – not the many highly processed meat replacements! A balanced whole plant food diet helps lower the risk for chronic disease, manage weight and improve heart health! On average, plant foods have more nutrient-dent calories than animal-based foods, making maintaining a healthy weight much easier, especially if you focus on unprocessed plant-based foods!

In 2021, Guide Michelin awarded its first star ever to a plant-based restaurant and leading chefs are converting their Michelin star restaurants to plant-based ones. Together with many other chefs, they are solidifying the concept that plant-based ingredients can be an equal if not healthier and better fine-dining option than animal food.
